Solaris sound-absorbing blinds at MEETT, the new exhibition and conference center in Toulouse, France. MEETT is conceived as an active strip -'une bande active'- a horizontal and compact project, divided into three parallel bands. The exhibition hall provides a total of 40,000 square meters of presentation area, which can function either as one main exhibition space or be separated into 7 modular halls, separated by six mechanized tents. The Event Hall and Convention Center building is designed as a machine. A system of movable vertical louvers and horizontal dividers allows it to transform in minutes into a multitude of configurations, from small meeting rooms on the upper floors of the Convention Center to an open-plan layout bathed in natural light on the ground floor. A 13-meter-high sliding façade on the east side of the event hall can be opened and allow indoor events to continue on the outdoor event plaza. Solaris has designed and installed, in collaboration with the Studio Oma, one of the most qualified Flexiwall system: a modular wall of more than 60 m long and 15 m high, sound-absorbing double sheet, fireproof and made with a complex and unique engineering. These fabrics meet the strict European standards for public buildings and are also in the highest standards for the respect of human health and the environment.
